Yes, students should have their own instrument. If you are not able to bring one for some reason, I have instruments that may be borrowed during a lesson.

I do not stock instruments, however I am happy to offer my advice. I can also offer my discount on some brands. 

Yes, I keep a stock of Elixir strings, which I have found last the longest. I can complete this and other maintenance tasks. 

All ages, although I do recommend above 8 years. You are also never too old to start!

I do not currently offer this.  

From my home studio, in Castle Hill, NSW. I am within 5 minutes from Kellyville Village. 

I can travel to the Hills District, however I need to add a travel fee to account for time/costs.   

In most cases yes, and we will incorporate this into the lessons. 

Note that some songs may be too difficult for the current skill level, or may have alternate tunings which is disheartening when it can't be played along to the recording. I will advise this at the time. 

Yes, I maintain a valid working with children’s check. 

A 24-hour cancellation policy applies.

After the first lesson, you will be playing something! 

Depending on the amount of practice, prior musical knowledge and instrument experience; most students can play a simple song they have chosen after a few lessons. 

After 6-12 months, the student will usually progress beyond a "beginner" stage and can play a variety of popular songs and even some simple guitar solos. 

The commitment is so minimal that the first lesson is on me! You have no obligation for a second. Cancel any time, no pressure and no problems. 

Practice is one of those things where the more you put in, the more you get out (to a limit). However, particularly young students can lose focus and become bored. As a guideline, below will yield solid results for beginners:

Pre-Teen 10-20 minutes 3-5 days per week. 

Teenagers and adults: 20-30 minutes 3-5 days per week.

Not at all! You will need some patience with developing the dexterity required, however it is likely that you will understand most of the concepts far quicker than if you were young. I teach many beginner adults, and there is no need to feel embarrassed or pressured. We all started somewhere, and it is like any learned skill that takes time. 

Yes - private lessons will be the quickest way to get you back on track. 

Reading music is not required for playing music. However, I will teach you to read at least the basics (tabs, chord charts, scale diagrams, rhythm) to get you by. I will also teach standard music notation, if you wish to understand it further. 

I teach both, and the same skills translate across instruments! If you learn how to play on an accoustic, you can also play an electric and visa versa. 

In-person is strongly recommended. Online is possible if that is your preference.
