Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need my own guitar?

Yes, students should have their own instrument. If you are not able to bring one for some reason, I have instruments that may be borrowed during a lesson.

Q: Can you help me buy a guitar for my child?

I do not stock instruments, however I am happy to offer my advice.

Q: Can you help me re-string my child’s guitar?

Yes, I keep a stock of Elixir strings, which I have found last the longest. I can complete this and other maintenance tasks.

Q: What ages do you teach?

All ages, although I do recommend above 11 years. You are also never too old to start!

Q: Do you teach the AMEB syllabus?

I do not currently offer this.

Q: Where do you teach?

From my home studio, in Castle Hill, NSW. I am within 5 minutes from Kellyville Village.

Q: Will you travel to me for lessons?

I can travel to the Hills District, however I need to add a travel fee to account for time/costs.

Q: My child wants to learn a specific song. Can you teach this to them?

In most cases yes, and we will incorporate this into the lesson/s.

Note that some songs may be too difficult for the child’s current skill level, or may have alternate tunings which is disheartening when they can't play along to the recording. I will advise this at the time.

Q: Do you have a working with children’s check?

Yes, I maintain a valid working with children’s check.

Q: What if I miss a lesson?

A 24-hour cancellation policy applies.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, card, PayID or on invoice / direct deposit if arranged.
